We miss you, Man-Man...

This Sunday, Man-Man left our family forever. He got out of our backyard and was attacked by one of the neighbor's dogs. We found him when we came home and I took him to the vet. Although we are very sad he's gone, I feel some comfort in knowing I was able to be with him for the last few minutes of his life.

When I think of Man-Man, I can't help but remember all of the wonderfully quirky things about him. He was such a blanket baby and always had to sleep with a blanket tucked in his mouth. He always slept with Jerrica at night and she always lovingly shared her blankets with him.

I remember how he used to tease my parents' cats and how, most mornings, he was too lazy to get out of bed before 10. He loved space heaters and his girls, Ally and Jerrica. Whenever we were leaving the house, he always assumed he was coming too and would jump right up in the backseat.

Now that he's gone, we still look for him in all of his normal places and I wish I could hear that collar jingling into the room just one more time. We will never be able to replace such a special dog and we miss him dearly.

We'll never forget you buddy...

Lynds- what a wonderful post!! he was a great dog, he was so cute when he was just a puppy- so cute i let him inside my house...never known to mankind until that time..and probably the only dog that will ever enter the established Vega home. I am sorry for your family's loss, those damn neighbor dogs, is it the dogs that attacked Dante as well? you did great on the video- it was put together very well. We need to get together sometime- I miss you!

Pretty sure its impossible to not cry when watching that. A nice tribute. Poor little guy, I'm so sorry that happened :( Pets really do just become a part of the family, its so hard when something happens to them (and you guys have gone through it a couple times, huh?) Hopefully the girls are doing ok, you can tell they loved him, and he them.
