Gone to the Dogs

My day started out with me finding out that I needed to take Dante to the vet...again. Ok, let's rewind. Honestly the day started out with me rolling out of bed at about 10:30, getting Jerrica breakfast, trying to fix my wireless router, watching some Glenn Beck, taking a shower, giving Jerrica a bath, and THEN finding out about Dante. :)

We've been keeping Dante in the backyard lately since he has been running off and getting in so many fights. He still has many battle wounds and it turned out that one of them got infected. His paw was poofing up like a balloon and he couldn't even walk on it. Luckily, I have an awesome vet, and Dr. Wally Ward agreed to let me bring him in.

Since it was a Saturday, there wasn't anyone else in the office but me and Wally so I had to assist with the procedure. If you know me very well at all, I don't do so well around blood, guts, and gigantic scissors being shoved through paws. Now it's not like I had to actually drain the wound myself, but I did have to stay upright the whole time and hold Dante in place. I don't know what it is about that kind of stuff. It doesn't make me actually want to gag and throw up but my body just can't handle it and ends up shutting down.

I managed to make it through everything at the vets office but I had to pull the car over on the way to my parent's house. I then had to lay down in my car on the side of the road, then again in front of the house, THEN on my parents' couch. I started feeling much better after my mommy gave me a PB & J sandwich and some water. Thanks mom!

After that whole ordeal, my mom, Jerrica, and I headed to American Falls to attend a wedding reception for my friends Emily and Roderick. It was so great to see them again, esp. Emily since she decided to up and leave us Idahoans several years back for sunny California!

This evening Jerrica and I have just been hanging out. Ally decided to spend the night at her cousin's house last night and tonight so it has been a little quiet around here. Plus, Marc is off on another Jeeping expedition. It's nice some times to have a little peace and quiet but it can get lonely. I'm looking forward to getting everyone back home AND for our hiking trip next weekend. Yeah baby!
